Course Overview

The scenic Gemas Golf Resort is an inviting and naturally beautiful golf development located just 30 minutes away from Malacca. Situated strategicially at the northern border of Johor and south-west of the Gemas train station, this mature 18-hole championship layout was designed to offer an immersive playing experience. The course brought a unique flavor to the regional golfing landscape upon its opening, offering an unrivaled experience for golf travelers looking for quiet, pristine championship conditions near Malacca.

Impeccable Conditioning

Maintained to high standards expected of a dedicated resort layout, the tees, fairways, and greens are kept in excellent condition. The integration of premium turf surfaces ensures consistent, reliable playability year-round while tracing the gentle natural contours, rolling fairways, and winding forest borders of the resort landscape.

The Gemas layout serves as a fair but highly engaging test of golf, demanding thoughtful strategy and smart shot placement on every single hole. While the strategically located sand traps and natural hazards are tricky, they are beautifully framed from each tee box to challenge your accuracy. The greens feature precise putting surfaces with subtle undulations, rewarding and encouraging a diverse variety of approach shots. Daily pin positions can moderate the difficulty of each hole—ranging from friendly to highly challenging—while various tee box locations allow both low and mid-handicappers to choose the ideal course length of 6,531 yards for their game.

The Thrilling Layout Challenges

The course features a beautifully balanced routing that delivers some of the most challenging, dramatic, and fun stretches on the entire layout:

• Front Nine Layout: A true test of accuracy that plays along stunning natural lanes. The distinct angle of the fairway layout, combined with heavy hazards guarding the ideal landing zones, poses an exciting challenge for those attempting to get their approach shots close.
• Mid-Round Hazards: A beautiful selection of holes that play directly across natural stream hazards to greens heavily guarded by sand traps. The challenging pin locations demand an exceptionally well-struck and accurate tee shot to prevent rolling off into tough collection areas.
• Finishing Stretch: A spectacular finishing sequence and a true signature experience that guarantees dramatic finishes. The layout presents sharp doglegs where elevation changes and clever hazards cut across the fairway line, heavily impacting both the tee shot and the approach. To open up the best angle into the undulating home green, golfers must bravely challenge the slopes off the tee.
