18 holes par 72 (6675 yards)
Sentosa Golf Club stands as the absolute pinnacle of championship golf in Singapore and ranks among the elite golf destinations in Asia. Seamlessly blending spectacular views of metropolitan Singapore, the bustling harbor, and the South China Sea, the club features two world-renowned layouts supported by mandatory golf carts, advanced caddie bookings, and a sprawling, luxurious clubhouse equipped with multiple premium dining establishments.
Regularly ranked among the top 100 courses globally, the iconic Serapong Course is the historic home of the Singapore Open. Originally designed by Ronald Fream in 1982, the par-72 layout measures 6,675 meters from the tips and underwent a massive overhaul in 2007 to introduce sharper mounding, stone-lined lakes, faster greens, and intricate bunker complexes.
The Tactical Challenge: Serapong demands intense strategic precision. Fairway bunkers tightly frame the driving zones, while heavily guarded, undulated green complexes allow for challenging, tucked pin placements.
The Signature 3rd: A breathtaking 439-meter par-4 overlooking the Singapore harbor. It requires a precise downhill tee shot into a narrow fairway split by a central tree; a fairway wood is often recommended here to secure an optimal angle to the green.
The Formidable 15th: Ranking as the number-one handicap hole, this grueling 393-meter par-4 curves alongside the water, forcing players to flirt with the right side of the fairway to completely avoid pulling their ball into the harbor on the left.
Following a massive $35 million redesign in 2016, the Tanjong Course emerged as Sentosa’s premium layout, serving as the Singapore host venue for the prestigious LPGA Tour. Boasting six tee options to accommodate all skill levels, the course features pristine Zorro Zoysia grass fairways and large, dramatic sandbelt-style bunkers inspired by the legendary architecture of Alister MacKenzie.
The Routing & Environment: Built on flatter, more walkable terrain than Serapong, the front nine plays close to the sea while the back nine hugs a lush, jungle-clad hill. Both nines culminate in a meticulously manicured parkland setting lined with diverse, beautifully spaced trees.
Key Defenses: While it offers reasonable scoring opportunities, its main defenses are tight fairways, uniform but heavily undulated greens, and an abundance of water hazards, including ponds, creeks, and small lakes.
The Signature 6th: This show-stopping hole features an iconic, 20-meter-high waterfall cascading adjacent to the tee box—visible from nearly everywhere on the property—and offers postcard-perfect views stretching over the South China Sea.
