Established in Cebu City in 1994 and officially opened in 1997, Alta Vista Golf and Country Club is a relatively modern course compared to many of its Philippine counterparts. Developed through a partnership between Santa Lucia Realty and Development Inc. and the Aznar family, the 18-hole course was designed by golf legend Gary Player.

Situated within the city limits, the course features hilly terrain, narrow fairways, compact greens, and numerous water hazards, all accompanied by stunning bay views. Reviewers frequently highlight the exceptionally well-maintained grounds and the expertise of the caddies.

Amenities include a driving range, practice areas, a pro shop, a golfer's lounge, a bar, and a restaurant. Originally an exclusive, members-only facility, Alta Vista now operates as a semi-private club, welcoming the public on a first-come, first-served basis, though certain amenities remain restricted to members.
