Established in 1996 just 40 minutes north of the city, Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club & Resort is one of the region's foundational modern courses. Designed by five-time Open Champion Peter Thomson, the layout caters beautifully to both high-handicappers and seasoned pros. Set in a peaceful valley framed by mountain peaks, the course preserves the rolling countryside’s natural topography while incorporating waterfalls and streams. Because it was built on a former fruit orchard, it boasts one of the most diverse collections of mature flora in Thailand, featuring thousands of vibrant, fragrant trees that bloom year-round. Golfers will also enjoy a cooler, less humid climate with refreshing breezes, alongside a rich presence of local birdlife.
