18 holes par 72 (6805 yards)
Located just 15 minutes from Yangon International Airport, Dagon Golf City is a modern addition to Yangon’s historically colonial golf scene. Designed by Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design, the course is built on a former fish farm, utilizing extensive mounding and Paspalum grass to ensure excellent year-round playing conditions.
The course is highly challenging, featuring narrow landing areas, large bunker complexes, and exceptionally small greens that demand precise approach shots. Notable holes include:
Hole 2 (Par-3): Features beautiful landscaping, intricate rock work, and a generous green that offers an easy par.
Hole 7 (Par-4): A short dogleg-left guarded by trees and a creek. Long hitters can drive the green, while others can opt to lay up.
Hole 12 (Par-3): The signature hole, famous for the giant red monkey sculpture in its greenside bunker—a nod to the course's construction starting in 2004, the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
Holes 16 & 17: Border the Yangon City Golf Club in a local "golf mecca" neighborhood home to five different courses.
While the caddies are largely inexperienced, their friendly service ensures an enjoyable round. The modern clubhouse offers five-star, luxury facilities with extensive marble and granite locker rooms.
