18 holes par 72 (6949 yards)
Conveniently located just 15 kilometers from the Khon Kaen city center and a 10-minute drive from the airport, Dancoon Golf Club is a regulation 18-hole facility. Opened in 2008 as the first international visitor-friendly golf course in Thailand's northeastern Isan region, it grew in prominence by hosting the 2010 Asian Seniors tournament.
Built on former farmland, the layout is open, flat, and features four sets of tees that max out just shy of 7,000 yards from the back blacks. The course is distinctly split into two different halves:
The Front Nine: Plays like a basic municipal course, featuring wide fairways and flat greens.
The Back Nine: Steps up the difficulty with more interesting holes and a tougher layout.
The Terrain: The fairways are generous but can occasionally have bare patches, blending almost seamlessly into a very light, short-cut rough. The average-sized greens are of decent quality, rolling consistently with moderate slopes and undulations.
Hazards: Well-sanded bunkers are scattered throughout, and water hazards come into play on 10 different holes. This includes the signature 11th hole, a memorable par 3 that plays to a challenging island green.
The Vibe: Dancoon is a local favorite because of its highly affordable rates and easy accessibility.
Facilities: The clubhouse offers all the standard essentials, including large locker rooms with showers and an open-air restaurant serving mostly Thai cuisine. While there is an attached golf resort on-site, it is primarily geared toward local guests.
