Originally known as the Paradise Bay Golf Club, Batam Hills Golf Resort underwent a complete renovation in 2006. Located in the Waterfront City district of Batam Island, this Max Wheeler-designed, par-72 course measures 6,225 meters. While not overly long, it offers a diverse layout that caters to all skill levels. Following historical maintenance struggles, the course conditions have vastly improved, now featuring Bermuda grass greens and local Serangoon grass fairways.

Course Design & Layout

The course is split into two contrasting nine-hole loops with wide, inviting fairways and fast, well-conditioned greens:

• The Front Nine: Winds tightly through the native jungle, characterized by tree-lined fairways that demand straight tee shots.

• The Back Nine: Plays through more open terrain and features heavy fairway mounding.

• Scoring Strategy: With no par 4s stretching past 360 meters, accurate driving paired with precise short-iron approach shots makes scoring pars highly manageable.

Standout Holes

• 4th Hole (Par 3, 140 meters): The signature hole of the resort. It demands a highly accurate tee shot to navigate five protective greenside bunkers; hitting the target sets up a straightforward par, while missing it triggers an automatic sand trap challenge.

• 7th Hole (Par 5): A short, high-reward par 5. A long, accurate drive puts the green within reach in two shots for an easy birdie opportunity, whereas a wayward tee shot makes saving par a serious scramble.

On-Course Experience & Amenities

Player Support: Golf carts are bundled into the green fees, which is a welcome luxury on this otherwise walkable course. The club is also highly regarded for its exceptional, well-trained caddies who significantly elevate the day's experience.

• The Clubhouse: Welcoming and equipped with a pro shop, locker rooms, massage services, and a restaurant serving an affordable mix of Indonesian, Japanese, and Western cuisine.

• The Lounge: Connected directly to the resort, the lounge serves as an ideal spot to relax with a post-round drink while taking in scenic views of the golf course.
