Overlooking a picturesque northern bay, Batam Island Golf & Country Club is a coastal retreat set across a rolling 167-hectare landscape. It offers highly convenient logistics, located just 5 minutes from the Nongsapura ferry terminal or 30 minutes from Batam Center—making it exceptionally popular for day-tripping golfers arriving from Singapore.

Greg Norman’s Signature Design

Designed by legendary architect Greg Norman and opened in 1995, this 18-hole, par-72 championship course stretches over 6,400 meters. With four sets of tee boxes, it delivers an adaptable challenge suitable for players of all skill levels.

• The Terrain: The course weaves through dense tropical rainforest and features hilly elevations, with ocean winds frequently coming into play.

• The Sand & Water: True to Norman’s design philosophy, the layout is heavily fortified with massive, deep bunkers filled with fine sand, alongside extensive water hazards. Embracing these high-risk, high-reward opportunities can yield excellent scores, while falling short quickly piles up penalties.

• Standout 5th Hole: This hole features a dramatic downhill drive from an elevated tee box. A water hazard bisects the fairway right at the 180-meter landing zone, forcing players to choose between laying up conservatively or aggressively flying the hazard.

Playability & On-Site Amenities

Course Conditions: While the layout can catch unsuspecting players off guard, the greens are intentionally kept at a moderate, manageable speed to ensure a fun and accessible round for casual golfers.

• Golf Facilities: The property includes a grass driving range, a dedicated putting green, a pro shop, and an on-site golf academy.

• Clubhouse & Lodging: The functional clubhouse offers full sauna and massage facilities, alongside an international restaurant. Overnight guests can stay in on-site chalets, while several four-star resorts and excellent local seafood dining spots sit just outside the property limits.

• The Verdict: Combining a premier layout with some of the most competitive, reasonable rates on the island, it stands out as an exceptional value for regional travelers.
